Loan Watch: Dons duo share spotlight ahead of draw

Ben and Paris advance to final qualifying round of FA Cup

Two of our talented youngsters played key roles in helping their sides progress to this afternoon’s FA Cup fourth qualifying round draw.

Defender Ben Mason picked up Braintree Town’s man of the match award, after The Iron beat Brackley Town 3-2 at Cressing Road on Saturday. The Essex club were two down with less than twenty minutes to go, but turned it around with late three goals.

Forward Paris Lock will also be awaiting the outcome from 3pm later today, after he provided two more assists for Dover Athletic. They too had to come from behind, in their 2-1 victory over Haringey Borough at The Crabble. Paris twice set up substitute Zidan Sutherland, as a youthful Kent side continue to benefit from his creativity.

Defender Ethan Sutcliffe and striker Quaine Bartley didn’t have a game at the weekend, but they’ll have new manager Adam Lakeland to impress when King’s Lynn Town return to National League North action on Saturday.

Saturday’s meeting in Dingwall brought together former Wimbledon teammates Will Nightingale and Toby Sibbick. Will, on loan to Ross County, lost out 1-0 to visitors Hearts, who included former Dons defender Toby in their line-up. In midweek, Will figured in the Scottish League Cup Quarter Final defeat at home to Aberdeen, when the Staggies were beaten 2-1.

Also in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday, striker Zach Robinson was an unused substitute for Dundee in their goalless draw at Easter Road against Hibernian.
