We’re pleased to announce that Wimbledon will be making another trip to Spain this summer as we get our pre-season schedule off to a sunny start.
Following our successful trip to the same location last year, Johnnie Jackson will once again be putting his squad through their paces in Eastern Spain for six days in early July (8th to 14th).
A full five days of intense, warm weather training will finish with our first friendly of the 2024/25 campaign - opponent and venue to be confirmed – the match is likely to be on Saturday 13 July.
The near-week long schedule will also include another opportunity for Dons fans to meet up with players and staff at the 12th Man Sports Bar in Benidorm – this is set to take place on Thursday 11 July.
Once the details of the friendly have been confirmed, we will be looking to announce news of some exclusive commercial packages, meaning you’ll have an opportunity to get even more out of your trip to Alicante.
Head of Football Operations, Craig Cope, said: “We are delighted to be heading back out to Spain for the 2024/25 pre-season.
“Last season's trip really helped set us up for a positive start to the campaign and we will be hoping to do the same again.
“The facilities and hotel complex are first class and provided a base for the coaching and performance staff to get some good work into the players.
“The fans evening at the 12th Man was a real highlight, so we are looking forward to visiting there again this year.
“We are looking to finalise plans for the fixture and will hopefully announce further details soon. It is likely to be on Saturday 13 July but this could change. I appreciate the feedback from last season with regards timing of the announcement so we were keen to get this information out earlier this year.”
