Due to the expansion of the AFC Wimbledon Foundation, we have an exciting vacancy for the new position of Sports Development Manager.

The Organisation

AFC Wimbledon Foundation is a registered charity and the official community scheme of AFC Wimbledon. On an annual basis the charity engages with over 55,000 people through its sports, education, social inclusion, health and disability based programmes which seek to use football and sport to inspire and improve lives of people within the clubs community.

Role Overview

Position: Sports Development Manager

Contract Type:  Full-time

Number of Hours:  35, including evenings & weekends

Salary:  £18k per year dependent upon skills and experience

 Benefits Package:  28 days holiday, including bank holidays

The post holder will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of the weekly rota, ensuring all staff and volunteers are allocated their work, covering sessions and overseeing the quality of work delivered.

Therefore experience within these areas would be beneficial.

In general, this will mean the following key requirements:

Planning and delivering a varied and interesting programme of community specific activities, directed at developing outreach work and use of club facilities. In agreement with targets set by the Foundation Executive Director. •

  The role will necessitate face-to-face work with people from all sections of the community and the supervision of regular activity sessions. The precise focus will depend on the particular project being developed at any given time •

Day to day responsibilities will include:

Maintaining and developing relationships with key stakeholders including schools, local community organisation and funding bodies. •

Day to day management of the charities delivery staff. •

Implementation of quality assurance systems and policies and procedures. •

Management of the charities monitoring and evaluation. •

Implementation and delivery of delivery staff CPD. •

Development of new programmes and securing new funding streams. •
