Neal: fans can lift us

Manager's message ahead of Tranmere match

Neal Ardley says that Wimbledon supporters can play a big part in helping the team end a tough month with all three points against Tranmere Rovers.

Tomorrow’s visit of Rovers will be Wimbledon’s sixth game in all competitions during the calendar month, but the Dons have only lost once so far during that time period.

And Wimbledon will be aiming to extend a much-improved home sequence this season as they have not experienced defeat since August at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

“Our fans were brilliant at Wycombe and on Tuesday and we are going to need them again,” Neal said. “Playing against bottom of the league does not mean anything because Tranmere will be right up for it with the lift of a new manager. We need to make our home ground a hostile place. Since the first two home games of this season our home form has really picked up and we will look to give the fans something to shout about again.

“We need the fans to really get behind the players and lift them for one last time this week. They can help get every last ounce of energy out of the players and see if we can make it a productive week come 5.00 pm on Saturday.”
