Luton win earns recognition

Neal Ardley’s achievement in guiding the Dons to victory at Luton Town has been selected for an award by the League Managers Association (LMA).

.accoladeA five-man LMA panel, consisting of chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, chose AFC Wimbledon’s 1-0 win at Luton Town last Saturday for the long-standing LG Performance of the Week

AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley will receive a new specially commissioned trophy made by world renowned silversmiths and LMA Partner, Thomas Lyte of London, in a presentation to commemorate the award.

Matt Tubbs' goal just before half-time was enough to secure a precious victory and it added as a springboard for another excellent away win with the Dons winning at Southend on Tuesday.

Speaking after the Southend match, Neal Ardley was delighted to make it two away wins in four days with victory at Roots Hall.

"We had to work really hard to get this latest one because they're a very, very good team and they threw an awful lot at us,” said Neal.

"With that in mind I'm delighted to have got the win and I could run through the whole team and praise them for how well they've played."
