Wombles from the Lane Premiere and Sunday fun!

Event runs from 10am until 5pm

13 May 2022

We've got a treat for Dons fans of all ages on Sunday, including an exclusive showing of Wombles from the Lane!

Set-up by WiSH (Wimbledon in Sporting History) and digital-works (www.digital-works.co.uk) and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the ‘Wombles from the Lane’ project is a collection of AFC Wimbledon fan oral history interviews.

It’s been edited into a film, which will be screened for the first time from 3.00 pm (doors open at 2.30 pm) in the main function room on the second floor at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

The picture above shows WiSH volunteers Jonathan Buckley and Maya Gottlieb after interviewing Dons fan Barrington James (centre).

Sunday's Family Fun Day starts at 10.00 am and goes on until 5.00 pm with all funds donated to Dons Local Action Group.

Just donate a tin of food and enjoy alternative entertainment at the Cherry Red Records Stadium!

This includes a chance to scale the heights at our stadium with 100 people signed up for the Dons Abseil Challenge.

There’s fun for all the family, including live music and interviews with Wimbledon legends (past and present), plus festival style food stalls, cocktails, and drinks from the Phoenix.

Other attractions include shopping stalls, a picnic area on the pitch, tours of the stadium, fair rides, inflatables, face paints, five-a-side tournaments on the main pitch, beat the keeper games, and more.

It's free to attend Sunday’s film premiere, but please book in advance by visiting this Eventbrite page.
