Byron returns for friendly

Terry Brown has confirmed that striker Byron Harrison will return to the squad for our final pre-season friendly against Portsmouth tomorrow.

Byron has shaken off the ankle injury he suffered against Eastbourne Borough and Terry is aiming to hand him much-needed minutes for the visit of Pompey to the Cherry Red Records Stadium. However, Louis Harris (hamstring) and Curtis Osano (calf) are both unlikely to feature and Rashid Yussuff is still out.

Portsmouth may be battling to stay in existence, but the League 1 club's pre-season form has been excellent. After beating Aldershot 1-0 last week, they earned a morale-boosting 3-0 win home win against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday. Manager Michael Appleton fielded 13 trialists in that match, including our former winger Kieran Djilali.

Terry Brown knows that Pompey will provide another tough test tomorrow night and the Dons boss will select a strong side to complete our pre-season programme. "We have had a difficult pre-season and the priority has to be defensively as we have conceded too many goals," he said. "I will be looking to pick the strongest team available. It will be a tough match for us as Portsmouth have still been able to get good players in and they have shown what they can do in pre-season."
