Big cup victory earns Fulham tie

AFC Wimbledon Ladies marched into the second round of the Surrey Women’s Cup with an emphatic victory against Wimbledon Town Ladies.

AFC Wimbledon took full advantage of weakened opposition on Sunday to win 12-0 against a Wimbledon Town side fielding only nine players. Kellie Pizzaferro, Kim McLean, Shannon Lindo and Charlie Powell all scored doubles on the day to set-up a second round tie in the county cup against Fulham Deaf Ladies on Sunday, November 18. It will only be a home tie in theory for AFC Wimbledon Ladies as Fulham also play their matches at Archbishop Tenison’s Sports Ground in New Malden.

Aramide Okekunle started the goal rush on Sunday and Louise Cooper scored the pick of the dozen with a 25-yard free-kick. Jodie Fernandes and Emma Treanor struck the other goals.
