Update on Jon Meades

23 April 2016

Injury confirmed to popular left-back

Neal Ardley has today confirmed that Jon Meades is facing an injury lay-off after a scan revealed damage to his ankle.

The left-back, who has made 43 appearances in all competitions during a brilliant first season back with Wimbledon, could be out for up to six weeks with the injury suffered at Dagenham in midweek.

Speaking during an interview for Dons Player after the victory against Leyton Orient, Neal Ardley said: “Jon has a grade two ligament rupture so he is going to be out for at least a month, more than likely six weeks. He is obviously devastated and it has really hit him hard. Jon wears his heart on his sleeve and genuinely cares as much as I’ve ever seen any player care.

“He has pushed us to this point and it looks like he is going to miss out. Once he can get over that, Jon will be 100 per cent behind the team, along with Callum in the left-back spot, and trying to drive us on.”

The club wishes Jon well in his recuperation and we hope to see him back in a Dons shirt soon.
