An AFC Wimbledon XI will take on Staines Town in a pre-season match at Wheatsheaf Park on Saturday 20 July (3.00 pm kick-off).
Wimbledon will field a squad largely consisting of Under-18s against Staines Town's first-team.
Staines will start 2019/20 in Bostik League Division One South Central after relegation last season and they have just appointed former Walton Casuals boss Anthony Gale as their manager. The match later this month will bing back memories for Dons fans of a famous Wimbledon victory back in 2008 when AFC Wimbledon clinched promotion to Conference South at Staines Town (the victorious squad from 11 years ago are shown celebrating above).
An AFC Wimbledon XI also have a game at Hanwell Town on the same day (3.00 pm kick-off). This will be a more experienced team with Under-23s featuring in the line-up.
