Cheye could be back for Christmas fixtures

Positive update on defensive pair

9 December 2021

Cheye Alexander has made good progress from the ankle injury sustained a month ago and he could be back in time to strengthen our squad for the Christmas fixtures.

The full-back, who was injured in the Papa John’s Trophy match at Sutton, is scheduled to be back in full training the week after next.

Will Nightingale is also progressing well from foot and knee injuries with the target of returning in the New Year.

Mark Robinson said: “I’ve had an update from Tim (Maynard, Physio) and Cheye could be back in training with the boys before Christmas, which is great. I believe Will might be a week or two after Christmas, but to be honest that will be a bonus because at first I felt we wouldn’t be getting him back until February.

“When they both return it will strengthen the squad and give us more options.”
