It’s eight days until our women’s first team kicks off their 2022/23 league campaign.
The first game is a showdown against last year’s runners up Hashtag United – and you can show them your support in the build-up!
To celebrate the start of the season, our women’s players will this Saturday be meeting supporters and signing autographs in the food park behind the South London Movers Stand and in the Kids Zone.
The players attending the meet and greet session are:
Rosie Russell, Lauren Allen, Megan Stow, Faye Baker, Amy Taylor, Rebecca Sargent, Emily Oliver, Remmi Gardner and two new signings: Billie Brooks and Mia Lockett.
The players will be around from 1pm at the stadium.
AFC Wimbledon Women finished third last season and reached the FA Women’s National League Plate Final. This season their goal is to go one step further and achieve promotion.
Manager Kevin Foster said: “We have had a positive pre-season managing to bolster the squad with some good players, as well as keeping a core of the group from last season. We hope we can build on the foundations from last year’s success and have a positive start to the season.
“For us it be great to see as many people as we can down at Carshalton Athletic, or the Cherry Red Records Stadium, Plough Lane to cheer on, support, and give all the women the extra boost to get over the line.”
There will also be a feature in the matchday programme with women’s player trading cards, so make sure you get them signed in time for the season!
