Loan Watch: Fifth appearance for Wimbledon forward in away win

31 October 2022

Striker Aaron Cosgrave returned to the Southend United line up in midweek, for the first time in nearly two months.

Aaron, on a season-long loan, was named as a substitute for Southend’s trip to Maidstone United in the National League, having been urged to take his opportunity by Head Coach Kevin Maher.

He last figured against Torquay at the beginning of September, but he made his fifth appearance when he came on with just under half an hour to go on Tuesday evening. The forward's appearance helped the Shrimpers to a 3-0 away win.

Ben Mason has been in fine form for Isthmian South Central side Basingstoke Town recently, having helped keep several clean sheets, but it was very much a game of two halves for the young defender on Saturday.

The Hampshire club raced into a 2-0 lead by half time, against second place Marlow in a top of the table clash. However, Basingstoke’s usually secure back line was breached a number of times in the second half as they were on the end of a 5-2 defeat on the final whistle. They dropped to seventh in the table.

Striker Zach Robinson was replaced in the 34th minute by our former French forward Derick Osew-Yaw for Dundee, in their two-all draw at Queen’s Park in the Scottish Championship on Friday night. Zach became ill during the match.

Young goalkeeper Max Foulkes kept yet another clean sheet for mid-table Molesey on Saturday, as they beat Spartans Youth 4-0 at Walton Road in the Combined Counties League, Division One.
