Loan Watch: Marcel gets off the mark

New professional on target

24 October 2022

Attacking midfielder Marcel Campbell achieved a personal landmark for South Park Reigate last week.

Marcel (pictured above), who signed his first professional deal for the Dons in the summer, took just six minutes to score on his first competitive start for the Isthmian South Central side. Marcel struck the opener in a 3-2 Velocity Trophy victory versus Ashford Town Middlesex.

Striker Zach Robinson continues to accumulate game-time with Scottish Championship side Dundee. He played for three quarters of the Scottish League Cup quarter final at Ibrox on Wednesday night in front of a crowd of 37,107, as the Dee were edged out 1-0 by hosts Rangers. Zach caught the eye, before coming off after 67 minutes.

Zach’s 15th appearance for Dundee came in the league on Saturday, in the goalless draw with Morton. He was replaced midway through the second half, when our former French forward Derick Osei-Yaw was one of four substitutes to come on for his new side.

It was a mixed week for young defender Ben Mason with Basingstoke Town. He came on for the last half hour of the Velocity Trophy defeat to Binfield last week, before returning to the starting line-up on Saturday to help the Hampshire club to a 2-1 win at Uxbridge in the Isthmian South Central.

Young goalkeeper Max Foulkes kept a clean sheet for Molesey, in their 1-0 Combined Counties League Division One victory over Brook House at Walton Road.
