Will Nightingale stepped out at Parkhead at the weekend for his Scottish Premiership debut.
Our long-serving defender, on a six-month loan, started for Ross County on the opening day of the season away to Celtic, in front of a crowd of 58,772. Although Will was shown a yellow card, he completed the full game as the Staggies fought back towards the end of a 4-2 defeat.
"Although not the result we wanted, it was nice to test myself against international players and get a player of the match award from the BBC," said Will.
Prior to facing the Scottish giants, Will had already figured in three League Cup games last month. So too had striker Zach Robinson, back on a season-long loan with Dundee. Zach has also been back among the goals, scoring twice in the win over Dumbarton and once against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Also on Saturday, Zach made his Scottish Premiership debut for newly-promoted Dundee, in the one-all draw at home to Motherwell.
Our duo could come up against a couple of former AFC Wimbledon Academy graduates this season. Defender Toby Sibbick was on the bench for Hearts in their 2-0 victory away to St Johnstone, while forward Toyosi Olusanya scored for St Mirren in their 3-2 win at Hibernian on Sunday.
Striker Quaine Bartley found the net for King’s Lynn Town in pre-season. The powerful front man, also on a season-long loan, was on the bench for Saturday’s National League North opener at home to Ryan McLean’s former club Hereford.
Quaine came on for the closing stages in the two-all draw, as the Linnets - who had Aaron Cosgrave on loan last season - aim to overcome Play-off disappointment.
