Ahead of our Tuesday showdown with Northampton Town, we’ve taken a look at a trio of players who have plied their trade for both clubs.
A larger than life character in more ways than one, Adebayo Akinfenwa was adored by both fans of the Cobblers and the Dons. Although the powerful striker didn’t achieve promotion with the East Midlands outfit, he came away with a solid record of 74 goals in 188 games – earning the club’s player of the year award.
He also picked up the Wimbledon equivalent of the accolade in the 2014/15 campaign, before going on to become a key component of our 2016 promotion squad, scoring in the semi and final stages of the play-offs.
Possessing a wand of a left foot, Mitch Pinnock will undoubtedly be keen to make an impact against us tomorrow evening after playing just south of 80 games in yellow and blue.
He has since played more games for Northampton and was their star performer last season, racking up an impressive eight goals and 14 assists.
Aaron Pierre joined the Dons earlier this month and will be aiming to build on a good career record that he added to during his time at Sixfields between 2017 and 2019.
He won player of the season during his time with the Cobblers and found his goalscoring touch with nine efforts.
