An incredible £8,400 was raised for our AFC Wimbledon Foundation – increasing the amount of existing support for a vital local cause.
A total of 19 Dons fans and staff cycled 40km from Plough Lane to Leyton Orient’s Brisbane Road on Saturday – directly contributing towards engaging and inspiring 1000 more local people in sport and exercise each week by the end of 2023. Currently the Foundation engages 2500 people each week.
The route took us through three South London parks, across Tower Bridge, along the Thames and out East before heading back down the Greenway, passed Hackney Marshes, through the Olympic Park and into Leyton.
The Foundation’s Head of Fundraising Paul Munro said: “It was great to have so many people out in support of our cause. The effort put in really typifies what we are all about as an organisation. I’d like to place on record my thanks to everyone that took part.”
On top of the amount already raised we are aiming for £10,000.
