Loan Watch: Zach regains his goalscoring touch

A comprehensive round-up of our players involved elsewhere

Zach Robinson overcame midweek disappointment and was back scoring at the weekend.

The striker, who returned on loan to Scottish Championship side Dundee just before the January transfer window closed, failed to convert a penalty in a shootout as the Dee missed out on a Scottish Challenge Cup final appearance on Wednesday to Raith Rovers.

However, Zach put that behind him on Sunday just four minutes after coming on at the start of the second half in the league game against Cove Rangers. He opened the scoring on the way to a 3-0 victory, taking his total to nine goals in 21 appearances for the promotion-chasers.

That was his first goal since last November and he then set-up Dundee’s second, who are third in the table.

Forward Aaron Cosgrave was restored to the King’s Lynn Town starting line up on Saturday. He played the full game for the Linnets in front of a crowd of 1,389, but was on the end of a 1-0 defeat to Chester in National League North. King’s Lynn remain second in the table.

Midfielder Alfie Bendle assisted in Eastbourne Borough’s early first half opener at Dover Athletic in National League South, but he was also shown a late yellow card in a 2-1 defeat at The Crabble. Defender Luke Jenkins helped Hampton & Richmond Borough to a point in a one-all draw at Bath City on Tuesday, but was also involved in a 1-0 defeat at home to Slough Town at the weekend.

There were mixed fortunes for winger Dylan Adjei-Hersey. On Tuesday he played for 86 minutes in Hungerford Town’s 3-0 victory over St Albans City. On Saturday he was involved in late calls for a penalty, but Hungerford were edged out of their FA Trophy fifth round tie 3-2 by Farsley Celtic. Dylan did get another 89 minutes of action though.

In the Isthmian Premier, our under-18s captain Ibrahim Bangura (pictured above) made his first appearance and completed 90 minutes for Kingstonian in their 1-0 defeat to Aveley at Imperial Fields.

Defender Jola Lahan and attacking midfielder Morgan Williams both made their Corinthian-Casuals debuts at home to Hastings United in the same division. Jola was named in the starting line-up and completed the game, while Welsh under-19 international Morgan came on in the 58th minute, in a 2-0 defeat at King George’s Field.

Defender Ben Mason was an unused substitute for Isthmian South Central leaders Basingstoke Town, who beat Marlow 2-0. They have a seven-point lead over Walton & Hersham at the top of the table.

Goalkeeper Harry Griffiths helped Burgess Hill Town to a point on Tuesday evening, in their two-all draw with Chichester City in the Isthmian South East. However, on Saturday, Harry was up against former Dons favourite Jack Midson and his in-form Sheppey United side. Player-manager Midson netted twice in a 3-1 away win.

It was also a tough afternoon for another of our young keepers in Combined Counties League Division One. Max Foulkes was in goal for Molesey, who were beaten 4-0 by third place Sandhurst Town at Walton Road.

Left-wing back Ollie Downs has returned to us, after a successful loan spell with Premier South side Fleet Town.
