Head Physiotherapist Bobby Bacic has reported that we are heading into the 2023/24 season with only a couple of injuries.
Paul Kalambayi is still on the road to recovery after undergoing knee surgery last season, with Bobby taking us through the progressions that have been made.
“PK has just returned from training at St George’s Park,” he explained. “He had a good week there, they’ve done a lot of testing on him and are pleased with his progress.
“He’ll continue his rehab now and we’ll look to advance him within the group. He’s joined in with the warm-ups in training and is partaking in modified drills.”
One other absentee in more recent times has been full-back Huseyin Biler, with the defender having not featured since our 0-0 draw against Woking.
“Hus has unfortunately sustained a hamstring injury. He’s currently in with our physio and is doing his gym work.
“We’ve been fortunate to not pick up too many injuries during pre-season. It’s only Hus that has picked up one – the overall fitness of the boys has been very good, which is very pleasing for me and the wider medical department.”

We round off our pre-season campaign tomorrow afternoon as we face National League Wealdstone in a 1pm kick-off at Grosvenor Vale.
After this match, the serious stuff starts as we count down to the big game on Saturday 5 August at Grimsby.
