Matchday Guide: Over 8,300 tickets sold for County Clash

Very limited availability for Saturday's game

24 November 2023

We're gearing up for a very exciting Dons matchday with another bumper crowd expected for the visit of Notts County.

At the time of writing, tickets are very limited, but the Ticket Resale option is in operation, so please check online for availability.

Dons versus County

In a month when Johnnie Jackson's men have bounced back to form on home turf, they'll be aiming to repeat the impressive attacking play that brushed aside Cheltenham and Doncaster.

It was a cracking atmosphere on those occasions - and a bit more of the same can help the Dons to another vital victory.

To make your matchday run smoothly, take a look at our full guide below.

Tickets

Subject to tickets being available, it's well worth booking today at the cheaper price as there will be a £2 increase on matchday.

Away ticket sales and collections will be from the away ticket booth outside gate six.

Calling all Season Ticket holders!

If you're not planning to attend, please let us know so that we can get more support for the Dons! And there's extra incentive to do so, with more details available by clicking on the below link.

Ticket Resale Initiative

Join us in the Phoenix Pub from 12 noon!

You can get in the mood for the main event by watching the lunchtime Premier League match between Manchester City and Liverpool. The game kicks off at 12.30 pm with the Phoenix open from 12 noon (entry via the Club Shop).

Roadworks

If travelling in by car, we recommend leaving more time than usual for your trip to the Cherry Red Records Stadium. Due to roadworks on Plough Lane, we expect there to be a lot of matchday traffic, so please allow more time for your journey.

Dons Trust Kiosk

Located behind the Reston Waste Stand, supporters are invited to pop into the kiosk and chat with Dons Trust Board members, who will provide guidance on how to join and the benefits of membership.

Opening times

The turnstiles will be open for home supporters from 1 pm tomorrow - entry is via gates 2-5. For those supporters who have booked hospitality, entry is via gate one. Special guest in hospitality this week is Simon Bassey, who played a major part in Wimbledon's rise after reformation.

The away turnstiles (gate six and seven) will be open from 1.30 pm. Notts County supporters can choose from a wide selection of food and drink options, available from the area behind the Cherry Red (North) Stand.

It's well worth first time visitors taking a look at a map of the stadium, plus other key details, by accessing our designated page on the official website.

Matchday Guide

Programme

It's the staple diet for your Dons matchday - and the programme is better than ever!

Josh Davison is our cover star on Saturday and there's a revealing interview inside with the man who had other careers planned - until being spotted at the age of 17.

Following the first-team debut for 15-year-old Justin Clarke, we also recall several talents from the past who played for Wimbledon at senior level as teenagers.

Club Shop

There’s extra motivation to make sure you pop into our stadium store tomorrow. That’s because we’re releasing our Christmas range, offering the perfect chance to snap-up a special festive gift for a fellow Dons supporter.

Bringing bottles into the stadium

We announced earlier this season that supporters are permitted to bring drinks of water in clear plastic bottles into our stadium.

This will be in the form of 500 ml (or less) clear plastic bottles (an equivalent drinks container as used by children under 16 or those with medical requirements is also permitted). Bottle tops will also not be removed by matchday stewards.

Full Update

For containers not permitted (metal containers, as stated in the article), there is the option to leave them before the game at a collection point (by gate three) or on the level one concourse (gates one and two). You can then collect after the match.

Cashless Stadium

Don’t forget that we’ve now moved to become a cashless stadium.

See our previous article for full details.

Man of the Match presentation

This will be hosted in the Viticult Lounge after the match (at approximately 5.20 pm).

Those who have booked hospitality will be invited to stay on for post-match, but all supporters will be welcome upstairs to enjoy a drink or two and the entertainment.

For those not in hospitality, you will need to join a queue close to the autograph zone in the undercroft. You will then be shown to the Viticult Lounge/ Mezzanine area for the Man of the Match presentation.

If you are sitting in the Cappagh Stand for the game please use the stairs in the pub, or if you are sitting in the Ry or Reston Waste Stand, please make your way across the area behind the Reston Waste Stand and past the pub.

Unfortunately, no spectators will be able to leave the ground and re-enter to access the queue as this goes against our licensing terms.

Entry is on a first-come, first-serve basis, with fans will only allowed up once it is safe to do so after fans leaving the ground post-match.

Food and Drink

We’ve got one of THE best food parks around and you can also enjoy a bite to eat from kiosks in the Cappagh (West Stand).

Our Food Park, situated behind the Reston Waste (South) Stand features the best of several different cuisines, including the following:

  • La Posta
  • Dough Shack
  • Naked Chips
  • Ding Ding
  • MyPie
  • Come & Go (Souvlaki wraps – Greek food)

A wide selection of food offerings will be available from kiosks behind the Ry Stand and from the Cappagh Stand concourse, including the following:

  • Piglet’s Pantry pies and sausage rolls
  • Hot Dogs
  • Margarita Pizza slices
  • Dorito Nachos
  • Burgers including Vegan option

Our By The Horns Phoenix Pub is the place for quality beers, so enjoy a nice tipple or two after choosing from a wide range of culinary delights.

Dons TV EDITED.png

Dons TV

Our popular Club Show is available on our YouTube and Facebook channels before and after the game.

Live pre-match and post-match shows are hosted from inside the Cherry Red Records Stadium, regularly featuring first-team staff and special guests. Simon Bassey will feature on the show before the game.

Pre-match shows start from 2.15-2.30 pm on Saturdays with post-match reaction starting approximately 10 minutes after the final whistle.

To tune in, simply subscribe to AFC Wimbledon’s Youtube and Facebook channels, then set up a reminder for the pre-match and post-match shows for the game.

And make sure you message us while we're broadcasting! We'll pick up what you have to say and respond live on air.

Autograph Zone

There'll be an opportunity for fans to get signatures from our players after the game by accessing our autograph zone in the under croft (behind the Club Shop).

Kids Zone.jpg

Dons Local Action Group Collection Point

There will once again be collection points for DLAG on Saturday with supporters invited to donate food to those less fortunate in the community.

Masterminded by our award-winning Dons Local Action Group (DLAG), fans will be able to drop off tinned supplies - with an urgent need for tinned meat, tinned vegetables, tinned fish, tinned fruit, and tinned pulses. Food collection points will be located at every entrance into the stadium.

Kids Zone

This will be open on Saturday. Fans will be able to meet Haydon, our favourite Womble, and there’s also plenty of fun activities for children to get involved with. The Kids Zone is positioned on the concourse behind the Family Section on the corner of the Reston Waste and Ry stands.

Specifically for kids aged between 5-12, it is open from 1.30pm to 2.45pm with activities organised on a rotation basis. Please note that children MUST be supervised by parents at all times.

Reusable cups

We have a reusable beer cup scheme to replace all single use plastic pint cups around the stadium. Once you’ve finished your beer, please dispose of your cup within the reusable cup bins located around the stadium.
