Ben makes debut after taking on fresh challenge

Loan Watch: The latest on our players in action elsewhere

Ben Mason was thrust into action the day after his deadline day loan move to Braintree Town.

The young defender, who impressed at treble winners Basingstoke Town last season and became the second recipient of the Nigel Higgs Development Award, came on in the National League South game at home to third place Worthing on Saturday.

Ben got the last twenty minutes and helped his new side see it through to a clean sheet, with a defensive block in the closing stages of a 4-0 victory for the Essex club.

Defender Will Nightingale stepped up his return to action with Ross County at the weekend in the Scottish Premiership.

Having got 45 minutes in the 2-0 defeat at home to Rangers the previous week, Will played the full game and also helped keep a clean sheet in the 1-0 win at Kilmarnock at the weekend.

Our long-serving centre-back has missed just one league game so far during his stay north of the border and already faced the “Old Firm”, with the Staggies now fifth in the table.

Striker Zach Robinson played the full game for sixth place Dundee in their 2-2 draw at St Johnstone.

Although Zach has netted three times in the Scottish League Cup already this campaign, the academy graduate is looking for his first Premiership goal with the Dee in his latest loan spell with them.

Striker Quaine Bartley came on for the closing stages of King’s Lynn Town’s goalless draw at Farsley Celtic in National League North.
