Former international rugby union star James Haskell has confirmed his attendance at a Plough Lane event that will be another first for our stadium.
With a full day of sporting action featuring teams from all around the world, we're proud to host the LIT7s London 7s on Saturday 25 May - and there'll be an extra reason to stay on well until the late hours.
That's because we'll be joined by James for the after party that will cap off an entertaining rugby extravaganza in style.
James Haskell needs no introduction to rugby fans, having been capped by England 77 times and had a distinguished player career at both Wasps and Northampton Saints, as well as internationally in New Zealand, Japan and France.
Since retiring, Haskell has taken the club scene by storm, as a DJ in Ibiza and at The Ministry of Sound, but now he has his sights set on Plough Lane.
James said: "When LIT7s came calling I had to say yes. I can’t wait to DJ the biggest rugby party of the summer. See you all at the after party on the 25th May. Plough Lane will be bouncing for sure!”
The after party will follow a day of international rugby 7s competition, and is included free with the price of the rugby ticket for fans to enjoy the whole day at no extra cost.
The men's line-up features powerhouse teams representing the USA, Ireland and Jamaica battling against the best elite teams in the world including the British Army, Shoguns (formerly Samurai 7s, representing the UK), and Rugby for Heroes representing Fiji.
The women's competition promises equal excitement, with the African Lionesses and Barbarians (represented by Find Rugby Now) battling elite sides Hammerheads (representing GB) and Shoguns (formerly Samurai 7s) representing the UK, ensuring a day filled with exhilarating rugby action.
Notably, this marks the first time 7s rugby will grace the Cherry Red Records Stadium. The tournament promises to be the biggest party of the summer, featuring special guest pitchside hosts, celebrity DJs, the ultimate party stand, and electrifying entertainment - both on and off the pitch.
