Ashlee Hincks recently surpassed the 100 milestone for Wimbledon goals – and on Saturday we’ll be marking this fantastic achievement with a presentation on the pitch.
Signed in the summer of 2021, it was pitched as a real transfer coup for AFC Wimbledon Women to sign a player who previously played in the FA Women’s Cup Final with Charlton and starred in Chelsea’s first ever Women’s Super League game.
And that’s exactly as it turned out because it’s been goals all the way ever since!
A presentation will be made to Ashlee on the pitch at half-time of the Morecambe game, so please stick around and give her the recognition she deserves.
Ashlee’s total of 110 surpasses Kevin Cooper, whose goals led the charge through non league after we reformed, and she is the 11th Dons player in our history to reach the century.
AFC Wimbledon Women’s General Manager Sophia Axelsson said: “In Ashlee’s first year with the Dons she scored 40 goals in all competitions to win the league’s Golden Boot award. Despite spending eight weeks out through injury, Ashlee won that honour again last season, and this season she has scored 35 already – 30 of those in the league.
“What is so remarkable about Ashlee is her consistency. Despite being out for lengthy spells due to serious injuries, she comes back time and time again - stronger than before. A true Dons legend.”
Ashlee will also be our special guest in hospitality on Saturday, chatting to supporters about the ongoing title chase for AFC Wimbledon Women.
