Matchday Guide: High Demand for an action-packed afternoon

Find out everything that's going on tomorrow

16 February 2024

We’ve sold over 7,500 tickets for the big game versus Morecambe tomorrow, so we recommend snapping up your ticket soon to join us for an action-packed afternoon with the Dons.

Johnnie Jackson’s men return to home turf with the aim of reigniting play-off hopes after a midweek setback at Accrington – and your support can help them to a fourth successive home league win.

Apart from the important 90 minutes, we’ve got a packed Dons matchday schedule tomorrow!

As well as it being our Foundation Day, a special presentation will be made on the pitch at half-time to Ashlee Hincks after she surpassed 100 goals for AFC Wimbledon Women.

Book your ticket for the big game – and take a look at our Matchday Guide below.

Brentford vs Liverpool in the Phoenix before the main event

Dons supporters can warm-up for the big one with a pint in the Phoenix Pub – and there’s a Premier League match to enjoy at lunchtime. The Phoenix Pub will be open from 12 noon, with entry via the Club Shop (please have your match ticket ready as it will be checked by a steward).

Opening times

The turnstiles will be open for home supporters from 1 pm tomorrow - entry is via gates 2-5. For those supporters who have booked hospitality, entry is via gate one, from 12 noon onwards.

The away turnstiles (gate six and seven) will be open from 1.30 pm. Morecambe supporters can choose from a wide selection of food and drink options, available from the area behind the Cherry Red (North) Stand.

It's well worth first-time visitors taking a look at a map of the stadium, plus other key details, by accessing our designated page on the official website.

AFC Wimbledon Foundation Day

In just over a year, our Foundation has raised over £125,000 to push further forward with its community work, which involves providing sports opportunities for people of all ages.

On Saturday, staff and volunteers will be selling raffle tickets (look out for our Foundation Gazebo outside the main entrance to our stadium) for supporters to win fantastic prizes. In addition, first-team players will be wearing Foundation T-shirts, activities will be hosted in the Kids Zone, and there will also be a parade around the pitch at half-time.

The winners of the raffle will be announced at the Player of the Match awards presentation, from 5.15 pm approximately.

See our previous article for the list of prizes and more information.

Presentation to Ashlee Hincks

It’s well worth sticking around for half-time as we’ll also be making a special presentation to Ashlee Hincks – the latest Dons player to hit the magic 100 goals mark.

For more information on Ashlee’s fantastic achievement, access this article on our website.

Rainbow Ball

You may notice a different match ball tomorrow!

That’s because the very first Rainbow coloured ball will be used by all EFL clubs this weekend.

The English Football League (EFL) and Official Match Ball partners, PUMA, have released the ball to mark LGBTQ+ History Month. We’ll also have rainbow coloured corner flags and the respective captains will wear armbands devoted to the cause.

There are also still plenty of 1987/88 home and away league shirts available too, so you can rock the retro look while watching the Dons take on the Shrimps at the Cherry Red Records Stadium, Plough Lane. The 1988 FA Cup Final range is expected to be with us in the next week or two as well, so keep your eyes on our official website and social media channels for release date updates.

Check out the new clothing range by clicking on the link below.

New Arrivals

The shop is open from 11am to 3pm, during half-time, and from 5-6pm.

Player of the Match presentation

This will be hosted in the Viticult Lounge after the match (at approximately 5.15 pm).

Those who have booked hospitality will be invited to stay on for post-match, but all supporters will be welcome upstairs to enjoy a drink or two and the entertainment.

For those not in hospitality, you will need to join a queue close to the autograph zone in the undercroft. You will then be shown to the Viticult Lounge/ Mezzanine area for the Player of the Match presentation.

If you are sitting in the Cappagh Stand for the game please use the stairs in the pub, or if you are sitting in the Ry or Reston Waste Stand, make your way across the area behind the Reston Waste Stand and past the pub.

Unfortunately, no spectators will be able to leave the ground and re-enter to access the queue as this goes against our licensing terms.

Entry is on a first-come, first-serve basis, with fans will only allowed up once it is safe to do so after fans leaving the ground post-match.

To tune in, simply subscribe to AFC Wimbledon’s Youtube and Facebook channels, then set up a reminder for the pre-match and post-match shows for the game.

And make sure you message us while we're broadcasting! We'll pick up what you have to say and respond live on air.

Our Dons TV team last week had an interesting post-match chat with our new defender Kofi Balmer. In case you missed it, you can listen to the interview by clicking on the link below.

Zero tolerance to drugs

We would like to remind supporters that any conviction for attempting to bring Class A drugs into any football stadium will result in a court-imposed Football Banning Order.

There will once again be collection points for DLAG on Saturday with supporters invited to donate food to those less fortunate in the community.

Masterminded by our award-winning Dons Local Action Group (DLAG), fans will be able to drop off tinned supplies - with an urgent need for tinned meat, tinned vegetables, tinned fish, tinned fruit, and tinned pulses. Food collection points will be located at every entrance into the stadium.
